You may find these chords useful. The important thing here is the idea of keeping one or two fingers anchored while moving the two other fingers and coming up with a new chord or sound. It is the concept here that counts.

Gadd5 Chord

E (6th) string (Low) = second (2nd) finger, third (3rd) fret
A (5th) string = first (1st) finger, second (2nd) fret
D (4th) string = open
G (3rd) string = open
B (2nd) string = third (3rd) finger, third (3rd) fret
E (1st) string (High) = third (3rd) finger, third (3rd) fret

Cadd9 Chord

E (6th) string (Low) = mute / not strummed
A (5th) string = second (2nd) finger, third (3rd) fret
D (4th) string = first (1st) finger, second (2nd) fret
G (3rd) string = open
B (2nd) string = third (3rd) finger, third (3rd) fret
E (1st) string (High) = third (3rd) finger, third (3rd) fret
