Considered by many to be one of the most important guitar chords in rock music, here is the E chord. Like the E minor chord, you will find this E major chord in many different genres. Many pop, rock, punk, country, bluegrass, and folk songs use this chord as their foundation. Again, when learning how to play this chord, try to use the tips of your fretting-hand fingers. You'll use this chord a lot.

E Chord

  • E (6th) string (Low) = open
  • A (5th) string = second (2nd) finger, second (2nd) fret
